چکیده

The aim of our study was to investigate the association between common polymorphisms in interleukin-12 (IL-12) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) risk using meta-analysis. A search was conducted in the PubMed database, covering all papers published by October 14, 2015. Odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were used to evaluate the strength of this association. Publication bias was assessed with Begg’s test. Overall, 6 case-control studies with 3,436 RA patients and 4,644 healthy controls were retrieved. No significant association was observed between the IL-12B rs3212227 polymorphism and RA risk in all genetic models. Similar negative observations were also detected for IL-12B rs6887695 and IL-12A rs2243115 polymorphisms. Interestingly, an increased association was found between the rs3212227 polymorphism and RA risk in the hospital-based source of control (CC vs. AA: OR = 2.13, 95% CI = 1.11-4.09; CC+CA vs. AA: OR = 2.08, 95% CI = 1.06-4.09). Overall, no obvious evidence of publication bias was detected. There had a poor evidence to confirm that IL-12B gene rs3212227 polymorphism was associated with susceptibility of RA.

Association of IL-10 rs1800896 (-1082 G/A) gene polymorphism and susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Northeast of Iran

Background and objectives: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a complex and systemic inflammatory disease in which the immune response is disturbed. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the promoter regions of regulatory cytokines including interleukin-10 (IL-10) may lead to exacerbated immune response and increased risk of RA. Here, we aimed to assess the association of IL-10 -1082 (G/A) (rs180...

Role of interleukin-12 gene polymorphisms in the onset risk of cancer: a meta-analysis

Many molecular epidemiologic studies have explored the possible links between interleukin-12 (IL-12) polymorphisms and various cancers. However, results from these studies remain inconsistent. This meta-analysis is aimed to shed light on the associations between three common loci (rs568408, rs2243115, rs3212227) of IL-12 gene and overall cancer risk. Our meta-analysis finally included 33 studie...

Analysis of IL-33 Gene Polymorphisms (rs1157505C/G and rs11792633C/T) and the Risk of Tuberculosis in Southeastern Iran

Tuberculosis is a vagarious infectious disease that generally affects the lungs. Accordingly, in some cases, it can also affect the liver and kidney. Host genetic may affect tuberculosis caused by bacillus Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The main risk factors for the disease are a weakened immune system because of diabetes, some cancers, HIV/AIDS, severe kidney disease, cancer treatment, a...

Association between Interleukin-6 Gene Polymorphisms and Rheumatoid Arthritis in Chinese Han Population: A Case-Control Study and A Meta-analysis

The aim of this study was to investigate the possible association in the interleukin-6 (IL-6) gene with Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Chinese Han population from Shandong Province. Target regions of IL-6 gene were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and genotyped. A logistic regression analysis was performed to detect potential associations in our case-control sample, the odd ratio(OR) ...
